Borg Warner R-10 R-11 Overdrive Solenoid 12 Volts NEW with 90 day Warranty

This is the same solenoid used by all eleven of the car companies that offered the Borg Warner electric overdrive as an option from the late 1930's through the early 1960's. This solenoid will fit standard Borg Warner overdrive applications with a shaft length of 1", measured from the tip of the shaft to the edge of the alignment flange. (lay your ruler on top of the shaft and measure from the ball end to the edge of the alignment casting). The alignment casting is the round part in the center of the large flange with the 2 mounting holes.

All standard overdrive-solenoids will measure 1". However Wagons, Convertibles and Lincoln's will measure 1.5 inches and a few odd applications will measure 1.25 inches or longer.


This solenoid fits the STANDARD 1" applications. Please check you shaft length before ordering. MEASURE SHAFT LENGTH BEFORE ORDERING TO MAKE SURE YOURS IS indeed 1 INCH IN LENGTH.

Solenoid wiring terminals with the solenoid in hand and the shaft facing out in front of you, the right hand terminal is number four and connects to the relay. The left hand terminal connects to the kick down switch. A small amount of solenoids had a third wire that was a ground if yours is one of those check your shop manual and it will confirm where the third wire goes. Most solenoids had screw in terminals, a few had internal connections with wires coming out of the solenoid. Wiring connections for both are the same.

When changing the solenoid we recommend always changing the seal in the transmission. This will prevent oil from entering into your new solenoid.
There is a seal in the solenoid itself that can;t be changed in the field. The seal that you can change is in the transmission where the shaft goes through.

The (Delco Alternator) plug is a wiring adapter that allows easy installation of an alternator 2 wire connection when converting from a generator. the plug is designed to snap into the connector at the back of Delco Cs130 internal regulated alternators. This wire along with the output wire to your ammeter is all you need to connect up an alternator when doing a conversion.

The special feature of our plugs is a diode that prevents voltage from your alternator to enter your ignition system allows shutting down of your engine when using the original on-off ignition switch. This plug adaptor acts as a source of current to excite or turn on the alternator at low RPM.

Modern cars with alternators idle faster than the older engines, most alternators are set to turn on around 1,200 RPM, older engines idle in the 600-800 RPM range, this plug tells the alternator to turn on at low RPM.

This plug along with the output wire to your ammeter is all you need to connect up an alternator into your vehicle.

The special feature of our plug is a diode that prevents voltage from your alternator to enter your ignition system allows shutting down of your engine when using the original on-off ignition switch. This plug adaptor acts as a source of current to excite or turn on the alternator at low RPM. This plug can also be used to power dash light (charge not charge light) The white wire is connected to the L terminal of the connector.
