Chrome 12 Volt Ignition Coil

This 12 volt coil is especially suited for use in vehicles from the 50's to the early '70's This coil requires external resistor so a wire can be run from a starter solenoid with a coil terminal. Then while the engine is cranking the 1.5 ohm resistor is bypassed to create a hotter spark from the coil.

The output voltage is dependent on the dwell time and spark gap, but for most 1950's GM or Ford V8's the output voltage is about 30,000 volts.

Coil primary is 1.5 ohms, with ballast resistor 3 ohms, suited for any points ignition system 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engines.
